Return and Refund Policy for Conext Container Depot

At Conext Container Depot , we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Return and Refund Policy explains the conditions under which you may return products purchased from our website conextcontainerdepot.org.

1. Returns – Shipping Containers

Due to the size, weight, and shipping costs associated with shipping containers, returns are subject to the following conditions.

1.1 Return Window

You have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to notify us of your intent to return a shipping container . Return requests received after this period will not be accepted.

1.2 Eligibility Conditions

To be eligible for a return, the container must be:

  • In the same condition as delivered (normal wear and tear excepted)

  • Unmodified (no custom modifications, welding, or painting)

  • Free of damage caused by the customer

  • Returned to the depot location we specify

1.3 Non-Returnable Containers

The following containers cannot be returned:

  • Custom-modified containers (cut, painted, or altered in any way)

  • Containers damaged by the customer (dents, holes, rust from improper storage)

  • Containers held for more than 30 days after delivery

  • “Final sale” or clearance containers (clearly marked on product page)

1.4 Restocking Fee

All approved returns of shipping containers are subject to a restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price . This fee covers the cost of inspection, cleaning, and relisting the container.

1.5 Return Shipping Costs

The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs, including:

  • Transportation from the delivery location back to our designated depot

  • Any permits or escort vehicles required for oversized transport

We can arrange pickup for you, but the cost will be deducted from your refund.


2. Returns – Propane Gas Tanks

Propane gas tanks are classified as hazardous materials and are subject to different return rules than standard products.

2.1 General Rule – No Returns on Filled Tanks

For safety and legal reasons, we do not accept returns on propane tanks that have been filled, used, or opened. 

2.2 Unfilled, Unused Tanks Only

If you wish to return a propane tank that is:

  • Completely empty (verified by weight)

  • Unused (never connected to an appliance)

  • In original packaging with all safety labels intact

You must notify us within 7 calendar days of delivery.

2.3 Hazardous Materials Disclaimer

By purchasing a propane gas tank from us, you acknowledge that compressed gas equipment is dangerous and poses risks including explosion, fire, suffocation, and related injuries . You assume all responsibility for the safe handling, storage, and use of propane tanks after delivery. We cannot accept returns of tanks that have been filled or used due to safety regulations.

2.4 Defective Tanks

If you believe your propane tank is defective upon delivery (e.g., valve damage, visible defects), do not fill it. Contact us immediately at info@conextcontainerdepot.org within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange inspection and replacement at no cost if the defect is confirmed.


3. Refund Process

3.1 How Refunds Are Issued

Once we receive and inspect your returned item:

  1. We will notify you via email within 5 business days of receipt

  2. If approved, we will process your refund to the original payment method

  3. Refunds typically appear within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider

4. Damaged or Defective Items

4.1 Inspection Upon Delivery

You must inspect your container or propane tank upon delivery. 

For containers: If you notice damage, note it clearly on the Delivery Order or Equipment Interchange Report before signing. Photograph the damage immediately.

For propane tanks: Do not accept delivery if the tank shows visible damage (dents, valve damage, missing safety caps).

4.2 Reporting Timeline

4.3 Resolution for Damaged Items

If we confirm that damage occurred before delivery:

  • We will arrange for a replacement at no additional cost, or

  • We will issue a full refund including original shipping charges


5. Exchanges

5.1 Container Exchanges

If you need a different size container than what you ordered, we accept exchanges within 14 days of delivery, subject to:

  • Container being in original condition

  • Customer paying any price difference

  • Customer paying return shipping for the original container and delivery for the new container

5.2 Propane Tank Exchanges

If you have an empty propane tank that you wish to exchange for a filled one, please visit a local propane retailer (such as Home Depot or similar) . We do not offer direct exchange services online due to hazardous materials shipping regulations.


6. International Returns

For customers outside our primary shipping region:

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility

  • Customs fees, duties, and taxes paid at the time of original purchase are non-refundable

  • International returns may take 30-45 days to process


7. How to Initiate a Return
